It is a match made in photographic heaven. After months of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that British actor Orlando Bloom is engaged to his supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr.
Bloom’s agent confirmed the news that the photogenic couple – who have been dating for almost three years – will tie the knot after months of rumours, faux engagement ring sightings and constant denials from both parties.
Bloom, who was born in Kent, is one of Britain’s most popular actors and regularly appears on the ‘most beautiful’ lists of gossip magazines. He currently has at least seven films set for release, including Paul W.S. Anderson’s upcoming remake of The Three Musketeers, where he stars as the Duke of Buckingham.
Kerr, who was raised in a country farming town in NSW, has become one of the world’s most in-demand models and was the first Australian to be signed up to the Victoria’s Secret lingerie brand. She is also a strong advocate for healthy living, practises a form of Buddhism and has written a self-help book for teenage girls. “My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch,” she told the New York Post’s Page Six Magazine of her post-modelling plans in 2008.
